Day 8, 9, and 10. Seriously

Why can't I blog 2 days in a row? It's a problem, I know it. But at least I'm blogging more than once every 2 months. You should just be happy.

Day 8 - Photo that makes me sad/angry

This was my first day at BYU and also the biggest blister I've ever had in my entire life. Chances are, if you know me at all, you know this blister. Cool, huh?
Day 9 - Photo that I took
This is the first picture I ever took of Joshua. I blogged about it before. It took all my strength not to post another Adrie picture. I Have soooo many cute baby pictures of her.

Day 10 - A photo of me taken over 10 years ago

Day 7

A photo that makes me happy:

I took this picture during Thanksgiving break of 2008. I was living with Alaina and she went on this awesome cruise. I got to babysit Adrie for two days before she spent the rest of the break with Kurt. One night Josh came over and we took Adrie on a walk to a close park. These pictures are on our way back home, when it was just starting to get dark. On the short walk a car drove by and out of nowhere (as most things with Adrie go) she yelled, "Oh no! It's a car! A scary car!" and screamed a little and started backing up. I have a series of 3 pictures but for some reason can only find 2. This moment was just absolutely hilarious and it makes me giggle still to look at it.

The Squigglies

I’m blogging on a word document. This is a new high (or low if you’re not a fan of the blogging) for my blogging career. I forgot how much I love that word corrects the weirdest things, and has a little red scribbley underneath all my ‘blogging’s, which, surprisingly, number four already.

I cleaned my bathroom today. By cleaned I don’t mean the usual (as in twice a summer?) windex the counters and mirrors. I mean, I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the corners and crevices and cracks everywhere in my bathroom. I doubt it’s been this clean since before old man Ash died of consumption (alcohol and the dying liver kind of consumption) in the hot tub. I had to clean it so Alaina can’t complain about it to mom and get me in trouble. Please note though, Lainy, that Adrie may die of the chemicals I used to try and make that bathroom clean enough. Please advise her not to lick the oh-so-clean floors. That kind of stuff.

The last three/four days have been very very fun. In the tradition of the Lake Oswego Stake camp girls, I went to the West Linn Old Time Fair with my Lindsey, Whitney, Rachel, Denise, Casi, and various other people. Turns out the Mormons decided to take over the fair. See picture below:

Very, very fun.

Saturday night I watched The Notebook and was inspired by Rachel McAdams sexy 40’s hair and decided I want to be her. The picture below was the end result. Monday I had curled hair pulled back into a cute ‘chiffon’/bun I love from that movie. I don’t think it was quite the same…but I felt great nonetheless. Man the 40’s was a good time for hair and dresses. If you were rich.

I’m wrapping up now, and I must remind you that Twilight and Eclipse are quite possibly the most entertaining, fascinating, and addicting books of all time. Ask Mallory and Whitney. Both of them have read all 3 books in 4 or less days. (Lindsey? You next?)

Good luck with the remainder of the week. I’ll be taking Thursday and Friday off work to go to the beach with Alaina and Adrie. Bye!

Mondayne.

So it's monday=beginning of the work week and you all are supposed to have written new blogs for me to read. This attempt at distraction from homework has proven useless. I'm sure at some point I'll have something interesting to read or write, but Monday has so far failed to give me any joy. Instead I'll state some pointless stuff about me!
I am in the top 2% fastest walkers on campus. Everyone walks slower than me. I must be very impatient because I'm always upset that someone is in my way on my rush to wherever I'm going. I think I need to calm down.

There are four (count it, four) weeks left of school. Four whole weeks until the two last days and then a finals week. This is a tad bit terrifying! I don't know what happened to the semester, I feel like midterms just barely started! Now I have a test each week until the last week of school when I only have to take three real finals. Ohh finals week. I think I finally understand that Finals week is super easy if you just do well for the semester. Thank you, Joshua and Alaina for your good examples.

Weekend=good. Party and two movies at Alaina's house. Joshua, Adam, and Emma came over to watch Dan in Real Life (good mooovie) and we ate ice cream and hot fudge. I'm near certain that ice cream and [homemade] hot fudge will always beat out cake and cookies. No matter what.

Red Robin with the oregon ladies this weekend was SO.MUCH.FUN.

May the next blog be more interesting,

Watching What Not To Wear

Tonight just might be the most exciting Friday night I've had all year. Except maybe for my birthday. I now have much more respect for Alaina.

Adrie is the funnest child EVER.

Entertainment? Provided.

I love my sisters.

And I'm probably going to get shot for posting so many candids. Sorry, dear sisters, I like when we're not paying attention.

Okay, for Alaina.

Here's a little sneak preview of the birthday blog. Besides that it already happened...but later there is an emo party. Hah!

Ps.

Grandpa took this picture and cut out his wife on the right side. Completely. Twice.

i hate this cmputer

I'm downstairs in the science and maps section typing on a keyboad about to give up the ghost. Al the letters that i'm missing? i'm just really lazy and don't want to strain my finger by pressing too hard. ths is why i never should leave the confines of the lrc.

My eye has been hurting for the last three days. i'm nt very fnd of having a blurry left eye, espcially as that is my wrse eye, cannot g without contact in that eye or i'll suffer death of a headache. I love alaina's new blg. I'm sad I can't be in oregon riht nw. I miss my sisters.

Borrrrrrrng. Still, today is thursday, andit's a dang good day so far.

Under a lucky star

The days are getting better. I absolutely love it. Today was the first day in approximately 1000 days that I got to sleep in past the late hour of 8:00. Can I just tell you how good that feels? Because it is extremely wonderful to have that in my life. I am currently drinking out of a yellow cup with a straw permanently attached and the bottom reads 'Alex Doermans cup'. That just goes to show you how many dishes are currently in the dishwasher and the sink, currently needing to be washed. A little overwhelming? Possibly.

Tonight I'm staying at Laina's house and having a girl party with Rach and her. Uhh Josh is out of town this weekend so I'm going to study probably. I already am getting overwhelmed by the weekend. Remember how I like Thursdays? Yesterday Thursday might have been the best Thursday of my life.

I went on a tour of the GHB with Joshua. Can I tell you how gorgeous that building is? It's simply amazing. And I walked through President Hinkley's living room, and read some family books, and saw four gigantic handmade carpents from countries with child labor like India and China. There is a GAZEBO in the back of the GHB. Definitely stood in there and tried to take a picture but the camera died, so I'm very sorry for those of you who wanted to see pictures of the Gazebo behind the GHB.

Have a happy day.

It's my heart.

I'm addicted to music. I don't know how else to say it. EVERYTHING! I love it all. There really isn't a greater feeling than listening to the perfect song and walking around campus. I think that might be the one thing I'll miss when I'm not at BYU anymore. No more walking around to Feist, Stars, Paramore, and all others. Probably by then it will be riding the bus with my headphones in. I've done that before, back in the day when I had an MP3 player and rode the bus to Portland to work. Ahh.

Feist. She's amazing. Let It Die was my therapy at one point, and I can't get over how great her new cd, The Reminder, is.

Paramore? Practically the greatest band in the world. If you're a girl, and you have feelings, you will looooove Paramore. Ask Alaina or Rachel and they will vouch for the amazing music that is Paramore.

Now, Stars, simply amazing to listen to. Currently listening to "Your Ex-Lover is Dead". Thank you, Becki, for the gift of Stars.

Last on my list of bands to cover today, Brand New, the only cure for an angry heart. Have you ever listened to 'Seventy Times 7'? I think it's the only song that fits every angry. Ever.

I think I might start blogging about loving music some more another time. I love so much of it that I really don't even know what to say, or how much. Love it. It's good for you. Maybe I'll make a playlist for you someday.

Gen Con

Let's all imagine being at G&G's for conference weekend because we got a pretty meager turnout this year.

Especially compared to last conference in April when everyone and their mother came to conference.

Best Day of the Week

Today I am enjoying my Thursday. I got out of Anatomy, retrieved my maple/sprinkles doughnut, ate it in the sunlight and breeze, and have descended into the depths of the library. I didn't bring my own computer today so I'll get more homework done...soo instead I'm parked at a library computer waiting until my table will hopefully be freed from the weirdos sitting at it. Life is so unfair sometimes.

My week is getting WAY better than last week was. My friend boy with a girlfriend is now just the friend boy. Tonight I get to go to a birthday dinner for my Subway BFF, Laura, and watch THE OFFICE and a new episode of 30 Rock will occur so I can watch it tomorrow when I'm holed up in the library for five or six hours. Amanda comes tomorrow morning, so she's gonna hole up in the library and do homework with me until I have class and then KNOLL TIME!

Friday will be devoted to studying for Anatomy, and somehow I'm supposed to take that test on Saturday before Rach and I head off to Gma's. I can't wait for conference weekend! I already miss Alaina and Adrie. Maybe I should drop out of school and be a live in nanny. That sound good?

Hahaha, my favorite song 'Alison' just shuffled to play. It makes me want to watch Get Over It. I made a fantastic playlist that I listen to. This morning on the way to school I was totally rocking out to 'So Much Love' aaand I definitely got some weird looks. I just saw a boy that looks surprisingly like Chad, Rachel's Chad, except a lot littler. Like, one foot and 5 years littler.

I really don't have ADHD, but this blog is pretty much ADHD in word form. Let's make some playlists this weekend, okay?

Home of the Work

I think my least favorite part of doing homework is the scrunching over to get close to the paper or book to study. I get a crick in my neck. Not fun. And I think I just used two words I've probably never used in my blog before: scrunching, and crick.

Doin' math hw waiting for LeeAnne to get out of class and we're gonna walk home together. Uhh maybe a Costco trip tonight with beaki, and hopefully to the Library tonight with Rachel. Oh I haven't seen Rachel in more than 24 hours and it's starting to feel kind of weird. Rachel? You do exist??

I spent the night with Alaina and it was extreeeeeemely relaxing. Alaina, thank you for housing me, I really enjoyed it. I've been so relaxed and not stressed today, even though I probably should get more stressed because I have three friggin' midterms that start on Friday and I need to go to GMA's this weekend. Well, maybe not need to, but there is no way I'm gonna stay home when I can go to Gma's and have some quality time with my favorite people on the planet.

Today was a gooooood day. Knoll time was absolutely great. I can't stop smiling. That's a good feeling, until it's going to be gone in a few hours because I'll start studying for Anatomy and be overwhelmed! GAH.

Nat, you need to come to Utah. I'm listening to the 'Wicked' Soundtrack and getting reeeeeally excited for seeing it and going to NYC. Can you imagine a better place in the world? I think maybe the Disney Cruise could be equivalent. It's probably one of those mood type of vacations. Laid back, sunny, and relaxing is Disney Cruise, fast paced, shopping, and independent city girl is the NYC route.

Still can't stop smiling.

Love you, Laina

Love my new blog heading? Yes, thank you to Alaina Despain I have my own wonderful layout that nobody else can claim as their own. It's pretty cool, it's so weird to watch Alaina doing all these tricky things on Photoshop...it kind of scares me.

I'm spending the night with Laina and the baby. I can't wait to wake up to a baby. It's almost like being a real mom except I don't have to take care of her when she's crying. I guess that means I miss out on the whole "being loved by baby" thing, but I'll leave that to Alaina.

I'm pretty much gonna go to bed now, I think. I've been getting some pretty good sleep time in this last week...the whole waking up early and going to bed early is starting to catch on.

I re-read the English Patient and fell in love with it all over again. So good.

Watching the Tyra

Soooo I'm sitting at Alaina's house watching the TYRA on Oh! Chris Kirkpatrick, formerly of N'Sync, is telling me how great being in a boy band was. Lots of money, booze, drugs, and sexy ladies. Rich Cronin formerly of LFO is telling me how he found some great friends in this new reality TV show. 98 degrees boy. Dumb.

I'm very happy to be with Rachel. Waiting for Alaina to get home, going to dye her hair. Adrie might be my favorite little person in the whole world; she is hilarious! Alaina, I love your child. Aaand I can't wait to dye your hair, and I hope it doesn't turn out bad.

Anyway, I was going to post two of my favorite feelings in the world.
1) Sitting on the knoll in the sunshine.
2) Wearing a warm jacket when it's cold and sunny outside.

I also enjoy having my own table in the Library so I can have visitors. Today a total of 5 friends came to my table in a four hour period. Thank you friends.

Day of My Niece

Happy Birthday (after your birthday) Adrie! I played dad for this birthday extravaganza and took plenty of pictures, including a video of Adrie unwrapping her first birthday present nearly on her own. I'm too tired and it is too late to post titles around the pictures, so you simply enjoy the images.

Muah!

Okay PS
I am only posting words now because it's morning. BUT! Alaina looks suuuuuper good in all of these pictures. I am extremely jealous.

I'm typing this in Excel first.

Okay guys, I'm blogging. For the next week (if I'm lucky) I have computer access during the work hours. However, I will be trying my hardest to stay away from the internet as I have some of the most boring and monotonous crap in the world to accomplish. Really though, I just wanted to let everyone know just how much I love the version of Microsoft that is on this brand new computer that I am working on. I think it's the business microsoft? Whatever it is, it's sublime. All the screens kind of fade out when you minimize, the little alarm noises are fancy and the automatic font on every program is Calibri, which just happens to be a very lovely looking font. I'm in love with this and I am considering thievery to get this little bit of magic in my own possesion. Or maybe I know what I want to spend my non-existent money on next.

Family reunion was the worst family reunion that I've been to, but that in no way means that it was horrible. Considering I really really look forward to these reunions every year and am never disappointed, a worst family reunion actually means it was enjoyable, just not my favorite. It was lonely not having Natalie, but Alaina and Adrie were very fun. Adrienne Sage makes me so happy, she's such a goofy little baby. Rachel and I are twins...I read the second Eragon book (Eldest) and re-fell in love with that series.

I am becoming excited beyond excited for school to start again. I am officially going to pursue dental hygienistry as my future career. I can't wait to live with Rach and Sami and LeeAnne and Beckers. Next year is going to be extremely FUN!

So anyway, I'm going to finish now. I hope I have satiated your appetite for more blog today, and later tonight or sometime I'm gonna post pictures of my darling niece and my hot sister cousins. BYYYYE

Oooooh

So I just realized
A) The year 2006 ended. (belated, yes I know.)
B) I did not write a blog about the year 2006
C) Everyone else wrote a blog about 2006
D) I am sitting in an airport and wireless internet...nothing to do.

January 2006 - Winterball. Grant was a good date, I ate calamari for the first time, amanda actually went to a school dance, and creativity was involved in the ask and answer.

February 2006 - Pff, like I remember February. Oh right, I WAS ACCEPTED TO BYU. Definitely one of the happier days when I found out that indeed, I was not a failure.

March 2006 - TWO best trips of my life. NYC trip with the 'rents, grand'rents, and mal proved to be worth the billion dollars I didn't have to spend to get there. Disneyland with the Jazz Choir was the best trip I've been on. EVER. without my family, anyway. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

April 2006 - PROM!!! Lame, I know, but one of the best nights of my life. Good people, great food, fun afterness, awesome dress and hair. I loved it.

May 2006: - Outdoor School! This was my second year as a counselor for ODS, and it was my favorite of the two. Natalie (not my sister) and I had a great time with our girls, and I had a great time yelling at children that they need to play volleyball better.

June 2006 - Graduation, Dance Festival, and the beginning of summer! It was lovely to not have to go to school anymore, and play around, and not fun to find a job. I hate real life a little bit, but I Loooooove no more high school. The dance festival was the bane of my existence...until it was over. That stupid dance festival was one of the best things I've ever done.

July 2006 - Well I don't recall anything superb happening in the moth of July, besides I didn't die. That was a good one. And I went back to work and slowly started making money again. Natalie (my real sister) probably visited and it was the best time of my life.

August 2006 - Exit Oregon, Enter BYU. Things worked out well and I got roomates I don't haaaate, and a best friend that lives with my other best friend cousin. Begin: Life.

September 2006 - BABY!!!!
Needless to say, I am an aunt, and the cutest baby ever is my niece. Alaina did well.

October 2006 - Barely Legal
I entered the world as a legal adult, and I can now go to real jail!

I was going to finish this, but after four consecutive days of blogger not letting me upload any more pictures, I decided I was done. Overall, 2006 was a great year, and I look forward to the NEXT ONE!
