Y-Be Fit

This semester I got the internship of my dreams. It. Is. Awesome.

Ya'll know of my dream to be a dietitian. I sorta gave up on it after I didn't apply the first year, then I didn't want to take 2 additional rigorous years of class and then I got pregnant and had a baby so things worked out great. My major is Exercise and Wellness and my goal eventually is to go back to school and become an R.D., but not today.

Back to my internship. I am a Health Counselor at Y-Be Fit at BYU. My job duties include: body composition testing (check this machine out); fitness, flexibility, and strength testing; and working with clients for 3 month periods to help them set and achieve goals. The last duty is my favorite, and it's the reason I originally wanted this internship. It really gives me the opportunity to connect with people who want to improve their lives. Personally, I know what it's like to start from nothing and try and make lifestyle changes. It's taken me years to get this healthy living stuff into my head, and I love helping others do the same. More than anything, this internship really affirms that I want to go back to school eventually to be and R.D.

So anyway, I could talk a lot more about it. Ask me and I'll be happy to, but I'll try to tone down the boredom for now. Cheers and happy 3 day weekend.

You are awesome. I loved this post. I love how you said, "but not now." It is tough to set our dreams aside for this whole mom-thing for a while, let's make each other go back for the masters that we want. K? I am glad that you get to have a chance to do what you want to do right now!

Good for you! But what is RD? Does that mean registered dietician? I love you energy!
