Mother Nature: 2, Kendall: 0

Alright world, I just want you to know why I haven't left the house but once in 7 days.

That one time of leaving the house consisted of four girls and one dad trying to push the volvo up a snow covered mountain (hill). Thank you to the postman and that guy I knew from high school for stopping to help us.  Without your masculinity and strength we might be sleeping in a car on the side of the road.

I'm off to Seattle tomorrow! I can't wait. Happy Holidays! I love you all.

Oh snap!

I'm cursing myself right now (with a spell, not the other kind of cursing).

I consciously didn't bring my camera with me and I am really regretting it. I'm at JFK right now waiting to get on my plane to Boston in the next 45 minutes. I've been here for an hour so far, and I'm not so sure I want to leave. The JFK airport is a mall. With airplanes. It's ridiculous.

In my 10 minutes of walking around I walked by a Borders, Lacoste, Brighton, a very large (and not open because it's 5am) sushi restaurant, and various other clothing stores. I have free wifi (get on the train SLC) and I'm charging my ipod so I can watch Chuck without it dying. There are small booths selling airplane pillows, scarves, and even winter coats. This place is crazy, and that's not even counting the giant food court. Want to know my favorite part of the whole experience?
CALORIES. Calories are listed EVERYWHERE. Calories, nutrition, and there is no trans fat because it's ILLEGAL.

This is my dream come true. Too bad everything I want to buy is 5+ dollars, and I am saving my various 5+ dollars for clothing. I would've liked to eat a bag of baked Fuji apple cinnamon chips, or a snack pack of grapes, crackers, cheese, and pineapple. I might have even bought a yogurt parfait or california roll if it weren't so expensive.

Moral of the story? I love New York.

Seriously.

Happy 5th of July!

This is what my weekend consisted of:
Joshua on July 4.
The dresser on July 5.
The dresser (and church) on July 6.
end weekend.

Here are the pictures of my baby! It took most of the day on Saturday and some painting on Sunday. This white dresser has been in our family's possession for many many years, and it was once painted to match Mallory's room of yellow and ancient romantic gardens. As of Friday it was filthy and old looking, and I decided (at least two weeks ago) that I needed a project to keep myself busy with all my free time. Enter: THE DRESSER.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Yeah, I painted it purple and gold. I'm not exactly sure what possessed me to choose the purple (the gold was a given) instead of some normal color (like brown?!), but I think it might have something to do with my parents giving me a little bit of freedom and me going wild and crazy with it. However, now that the dresser is put together I LOVE IT in my room. My next project is to a) get gold handles for my dresser and b) paint the wall behind my bed. I'm thinking orange or pink? We'll see.

Thanks 'rents, for letting me sand, paint, repaint, and repaint this baby. Thank you, dad, for doing part of the sanding so I still have some use of my hand. Let me warn you all that sanding is NOT as fun or easy as it sounds. My hand was swollen, hot, and generally disgusting for at least three hours after my 20 minutes of sanding with that electric thing. It is just not normal to have a hand shaking that much for so long.

Hope everyone had a good (hopefully) three day weekend! Love and bye.
K DUB

ps.
I'm not serious about the pink and orange. I'm still thinking about that background color.

Back in black.

HI!

So many blogs I have been catching up on. It's a little overwhelming when you go on a six day vacation and come back to 30+ blogs. If I didn't comment and you are slightly miffed, please forgive me. Chances are I saw you in the last week and should have adequately given you some Kendall love. If you feel that this need was not met, please forgive my lack of foresight. I love you.

I went to Utah on a whirlwind day long trip. I saw all of my family and all of Josh's family and it was absolutely great. I don't think I've ever seen so many people I enjoy in such a short amount of time.

Peeps:
I love Jacob and Abbey's new house (and them and their children), Alaina's new condo is to die for, Rachel is tan and Spanish, EMMA HAS A LITTLE BUMP!, Amber looked as beautiful as ever with her beautiful blue-eyed baby, G&G had their game on (the game of best Gparents ever), Aunt Cheri was a gracious surprise host, Rachel (caldwell) wants to live with me, Gabbe is hairstyling and mingling in Orem, and Joshua is just as handsome, funny, and gentlemanly as ever.

Food:
Diet coke from my lover.
Spanish candy and gingersnaps at AC's (aunt cheri's)
110% mexican food.
Candy popcorn love Adam and Emma.
Costco feast at Laina's, perfect with sun, swimming, and watermelon. (and DC)
EINSTEIN BAGELS!
TEXAS ROADHOUSE!
Oh the pleasure food gives me. I really need to start cooking this summer.

Joshua and I drove from Provo to West Linn in about 15 hours (with a 1.5 hour stop at J&A's, 1 hr stop at Texas Roadhouse, and 10 minute stops at bathrooms) and made it home by 11:30 on Saturday night! We churched it up on Sunday, ticket to ride (100x), eating, playing, laughing, watching the Swan Princess, beach visiting, garmining, holding hands, shopping, and Chevy's and end.

Sorry my brain is about 1000 miles per hour right now. I need to clean my severely neglected room.
K bye.

Hey guys!

I'm going to be on a plane to see Joshua in exactly 12 hours. Cheers!!

Return from Nowhere

So I haven't blogged in a week. Is this surprising or not? I can't really decide. I think my June blog count is going to be too low, so I've got to pump out a couple of these worthless things in the next few days.

Thoughts on life:
1. Something happens during a)pregnancy and b)childbirth to make women (and maybe the occasional father) able to count age in weeks and months. I don't understand it. When people ask me how old my niece is, I have to say, "Oh almost two years" and then add a little, "I've never been a mom. I can't do that whole "month" thing."
2. I really like my job at the medical office. It's kind of cool to be able to use my knowledge from anatomy in something other than attempting (and failing) to help Joshua study.
3. I'm going to Utah on Friday. I'm quite sad it will really only be for one day, and I definitely won't get to do as much as I want.
4. LeeAnne has made me the happiest person on the planet. For reasons undisclosed.
5. I'm trying to find somewhere to live in the fall. Any ideas?
6. I'm reading 'The Host' by Stephanie Meyer, and I'm kind of losing interest. The Warrior books are waaaaay more interesting.
7. Veet works, it just smells like perm solution.
8. I went shopping last weekend, and it was soooooo fun.
9. The last five nights I watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Mallory. I love both her and LOTR.
10. I'm addicted to reading.
11. I was only going to go to 10 numbers, but I had to add this 11th. I don't have to work on Friday, Monday afternoon, or Tuesday. Blessings be upon Joshua's head.

Love you, bye!

In Memoriam.

So it's memorial day.

Today I woke up at 5:53, layed in bed for forever, put on a dash of makeup and went to the train station with Joshua. He so kindly carried (aka pulled) my luggage from the car to the train and loaded it, and I was off at 7:30 on the dot. Needless to say, it probably wasn't the best moment of my life, but I've survived.

I spent the weekend with the Calvert's in Redmond, WA. I really wish I had some pictures of more than Joshua and me. I will post some for your viewing please.

RECAP:
Friday: Train left on time and I was lucky enough to sit across (yes that means facing) from a lesbian couple. My train arrived a thousand hours late, I got the best hug of my entire life from Josh upon arrival. I was honored with the presence of the whole Calvert family and we drove home to party city. And I'm fairly certain we played ticket to ride and I lost. For the first time ever.

Satuday: Woke up much to early and had a delicious breakfast of pancakes (and Joshua) from heaven. Terri, Emma, Josh and I went to the Redmond Saturday Market and tried lots of locallygrown-pesticidefree-freerange-allnatural-willcurecancerbecauseit'snatural samples and looked at the super cute puppies running around. Emma, Josh, and I went to Old Navy to find some shorts for Josh and I ended up got the cutest clutch in the world and Josh didn't get any shorts. I was then treated to the wonderful Taco del Mar experience of a lifetime with some teriyaki chicken for dessert. Games, Chronicles of Narnia, reading, talking, eating, then some sleeping.

Sunday: Breakfast, a late shower, the church, a glimpse of the least trusting baby you'll ever meet, some meet-and-greet, botanical gardens, home for the MOST AMAZING DINNER EVER, Ticket to Ride (josh kicked some serious trash), The Last Holiday, a round of hugs and goodnights, and I'm back to Monday!

It was seriously SO much fun to be with the Calvert's. Thank you SO so much to Randy, Terri, Spencer, and Emma for sharing your home and Josh time with me. It was so sweet. Thank you!

Okay that's all. Almost.
I used run-on sentences.
Adam Calvert: You made this blog. That's you on the phone with Josh.
I picked a petal off a flower in the botanical gardens. Don't tell the garden police please.
Sorry if the text-to-picture ratio is too low, thanks for viewing anyway.

AND LASTLY!!
In Memoriam of Memorial Day.

Bet you're jealous.

Just thought I'd let you know I'm in Washington enjoying Emma, Spencer, Randy, Terri, and most importantly: JOSHUA.

That's all.

Scatter Sunshine

Please excuse my recent lack of the bloglings. Mallory came and lived with me for two amazingly fun days, Gabbe came and partied with us on Friday night, it snowed on Sunday, I completed one of three Mondays left before I go home, and I made a fair share of food this weekend. Flapjacks and carrot cake and carrot cupcakes. It was a good one.

I am verrrrry excited for conference weekend to come.
Please excuse my lack of anything good in this little blogling. I'd forgive you.

I Love the Presidents

This last weekend Joshua and I took a wonderful little vacation to Boise to see Jacob and Abbey. It was a little bit of heaven to be fed three (holy amazing) meals a day and have conversations with little people and nice grown ups. I found another lover of the Food Network. And some fellow dessert lovers. We managed to visit this CRAZY prison and all I thought about the whole time was Prison Break. I now have this weird desire to be a nurse in a prison...then I remember I don't want to get shanked with a rose bush or burned to the ground in a 1970's style riot. It was super fun to have a weekend away.

Our Sunday activity began building block castles while Max slept, then he awoke to wreak havoc among the worlds, both real and imaginary. It was hilarious. The best part is the kicking over of the castles, especially before we had the camera on (and he probably wasn't supposed to be doing it). Cheers!

Picturathon 2008

In celebration of the new year 2008, I'm putting up pictures. A lot of pictures. Most of them, not so attractive! Dear Family, once again I beg your forgiveness for posting such attractive pictures, but the entertainment is just too good. I however, am less cool than Rachel and have no pictures older than the invention of digital cameras to offer.
***************************************************************

Here we have the Disney Cruise, a magical event that took place in 2000, and again in 2003...maybe. It was a lovely vacation. We stopped in sin filled Key West, did the macarana on the boat a couple times, and finished the trip off with a couple day jaunt around Disney World. See the tired faces? 19th century face was in YEARS ago!

Here's a little tribute to Rachel, as rach did a little tribute to me awhile back. I put them all in ageish order...I hope you enjoy my roundness of youth.

Begin the years of Adult trips to Mexico. The first Christmas reunion took place in 2004. Here's a picture of us unmarried girls. (Except Alaina, she's married in this one.)

Once, Mom and Dad took Mallory and me to Boston to tour around the place we once lived. It was stupendous, we took a trip to the Yankee Candle Factory (I still have those candles floating around in my room), some pumpkin patch outside of it, and our sweet sweet ride was a PT Cruiser. Back when they were cool. You know, with colored sunglasses as well.

Once I went camping. The great part? I enjoyed it.
We went on a bike ride (four miles downhill after a drop-off at the top), hiked a mini mountain, and I slept on a hammock. Said hammock was quite comfortable, except the cold feel that occured from having my feet above my heart. Anyone notice what book is above my head? Ohh yeah.

Not much to say about this one except that my family loves Harley's. Grandpa's got quite the collection. I can't WAIT until Spring when we might get to go on a ride...
Alaina and Natalie graduated college in 2004?, Lainy with her Masters and Nat with the undergrad. I think I'm more proud now than I was then. It was especially important that Natalie and I got a picture walking and holding hands...because we love each other.

End Pictures.
I'm excited, I have maaaany more pictures to share with the world sometime in the future. Right now I'm in the process of making my own Italian Minestrone soup for dinner, from scratch, it's a little hard. Joshua, however, is quite a lovely man as in he eats anything I make. And likes it too.
Love to all!

All over the place

Want to know what I was like as a child? Check out Rachel's blog. I'm the not as attractive as Rachel child.

The past couple of days I spent showing Joshua my life pre-this year. We got to watch some really good home videos, and I'm pretty sure we both nearly wet our pants at Natalie's secret little addition to the Sunshine Generation tape. We watched some pretty good Alaina cheerleading, children's attempts at dancing and singing, a weird interpretive dance from Mal and Myself, birthday parties, country line dancing, Mallory's first bad word, birthday parties, Christmases, and jumping on the trampoline. It was a pretty fun trip down memory lane, eh?

I was politely asked to play the piano at a baptism today. It was a Williams affair! Dad conducted the meeting, Mom conducted the music, and I played the piano and messed up less than the number of digits on my hands and feet. It was really cool to be at a baptism, I can't remember the last time I actually went to one. I loved it.

Yesterday we celebrated Joshua's birthday Oregon style. I was anxious to bake so I could wear my brand new cutest apron ever, compliments of Joshua. I pretty much haven't taken it off since, so Amanda and I had to bake a cake today, too.

This red velvet recipe calls for 2 TABLESPOONS of red food coloring. It was so worth it.

Joshua saying a prayer over his birthday cupcake. (not really)

I'm reeeally excited to return to Utah. To play with Alaina, Rachel, and Joshua. Nat, come visit soon??

Family Vacation no.1

Heyyy I'm blogging for two reasons.

1. I am overjoyed the internet is working. I found a different, unsecured connection.

2. I have a paper to write. This is procrastinating.

OHhhh was this weekend a good one! So much happened...but really nothing at all. It all started with a desire to see the Temple lights, and ended with two overnight stays at two different houses, a luncheon worthy of pre-holiday status courtesy of Aunt Cheri, a near brush with death in the "blizzard" of '07, the magic parallel parking job of '07, a climb over a snowy mountain to get the key to safety, near death with the falling snow in Temple Square, dinner at the family roadhouse, two separate visits to G&G, supreme waffle breakfast, a tromp in the five inch snow, backhand deals with the manager at Texas Roadhouse, sip of soup at grandma's, and the worst movie you've ever seen in your life.

Entertainment? Provided.

I love my sisters.

And I'm probably going to get shot for posting so many candids. Sorry, dear sisters, I like when we're not paying attention.
