I've been reading The Hunger Games like a maniac. Rachel lent me book one on Monday night. I started at 10 pm and finished around 2 am Tuesday morning. Then I thought about it all week and sorta started re-reading it and then bought Catching Fire on Thursday and read it on Friday night.
I can't stop thinking about it.

Day 14 - Nonfiction book
Nonfiction is definitely not my style. It's Josh's. I read non-fiction when it's assigned in school. I struggled to come up with a book that I've read and/or enjoyed that is nonfiction. One time when I worked at a non-profit organization, I borrowed the book The Rape of Nanking. It's a gruesome book, but it was an interesting one. It's the story of the Japanese invasion of a Chinese city, Nanking. It was interesting to see war from a non-American point of view. I was fascinated the whole way through, but I didn't have the heart to look at the few black and white pictures stuck in the middle of the novel. I wouldn't recommend it as a light read, it's definitely one of the most realistically gruesome (duh, it's nonfiction) books I've ever read.
The second book that came to mind as I started typing that I don't read non-fiction unless it's prescribed by school, is The Culprit and the Cure. It's a non-fiction book written by a former BYU professor, and it's all about nutrition. It reads more like an interesting, easy read, but my awesome Chronic Disease professor uses it for the textbook in our class. If you really want to learn some really good things about exercise and nutrition, read this book. It pretty much has everything you'd ever need to know about living a healthy life. It's surprisingly cheap (see:Amazon) and if you buy it and don't like it/find it interesting/useful, I'll buy it from you. Seriously. I love this book.
And that, my friends, sums up my experience with non-fiction. It's interesting, but I much prefer the bright, flashy covers of the teenaged fiction (read: magical) world.

Day 13
A fictional book
I'm sorta confused by this title. Am I supposed to make up a book that I've always wanted to read/write? Or am I posting about a fiction book that I like? I think I'll stick to fiction book though because there are waaaay too many fictional books I want to read. Most of them Harry Potter sequels.
Eragon. I don't really know what to say about it except that I was almost more obsessed with Eragon than I was with Harry Potter for a few months two summers ago. And Eragon the movie is almost nothing like the actual book. Josh, upon reading Eragon, asked me where the heck they came up with the movie. I don't know, but don't judge the book by the movie. All in all, there are 3 books in the Eragon series and I'm waiting for a 4th to come out who knows when.
Moral of the story? If you're geeky and like magic, read Eragon.

I'm admitting something really embarassing right now.
Does anybody know where my copy of Breaking Dawn is? I remember lending it out, but I don't remember where it ended up.
Cheers to everyone. General Conference was great, Josh and I spent time with my Gparents Wood, and we also got to watch a session with Jacob, Abbey, and the boys. Hopefully Josh and I will have a little somebody to watch conference with next time.

Twilight Fever
I find it kind of weird that the whole world is having Twilight fever. I thought only Mormons and goths read it, but apparently, the world (or just hollywood) is waiting in anticipation. Robert Pattison is EVERYWHERE.
Here's a little photo gallery for your viewing pleasure. That's all for now.

Weasley is my King
Another short little blog to finish out my last 12 hours of life.
I never really realized what I was missing in the 5th Harry Potter movie until I reread Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I miss Ron's chance to shine. It is actually quite sad, because Rupert Grint didn't even get a very fair share of the limelight when the last film came out. I distinctly remember wondering why Harry (dan rad) and Hermione (emma "my girl crush" watson) had so many interviews, and why Ron had none. Poor guy. We never even got to hear 'Weasley is my King'.
Life just isn't complete.

Just for the Record
I read 30 different books this summer, and re-read (as in read twice or more in the span of summer 2008, I mean 2007) four of those.
That's how exciting it is to be me.

Embarassing...
I decided it's definitely time for me to write a new blog. I showed Ruby (nurse bff from work) my blog, and I realized all my recent blogs are about Breaking Dawn. Dear friends, Breaking Dawn isn't my life. So here's my life update:
Tonight is my last night in West Linn. I go home (what?! Provo is home?) tomorrow morning at 6:50 AM. I am currently watching Tristan & Isolde with Mal Pal and trying to pack all the crap I somehow accumulated over the summer. Dear Aunt Cheri, I know, I have so much stuff. Thank you so much for housing all my abundant belongings.
My last day at work was a success. I kind of worked, played with my work Bff's, we had an amazing bonfire at lunch time, and I got lots of hugs and gave lots of cards. I was so lucky to work in an office where I was friends with my co-workers. It made my summer pretty bearable!
Cheers, everyone! I'll see some of you soon, others of you at Christmas or Thanksgiving, or the next couple weeks.
Quote of the summer:
"You can't have eye sex with girls like that, Tristan! It gives you away."

An Explanation
I don't have much to blog about except Breaking Dawn, but I don't really want to post any spoilers or anything. So dear my readers, how long do I have to wait before I let you know my feelings? Thanks, love you, bye.

Ironically, it is breaking dawn outside...
OH. MY. GOSH.
Repeat 100 times.
That is what my last 10 minutes has consisted of.

Breaking DAWN
Tomorrow night is so close I can almost taste it.
Book 4. At midnight. You bet I'm gonna be there. I might even stay up until 5 in the morning reading it. I might decide to savor it. Maybe I'll even take turns reading it out loud with Joshua or Mallory. Somehow I don't think I'll be able to stop reading once I get it in my hands.
Sooo I'm excited for tomorrow as Friday. I'm going to Sephora with my girl friends, maybe getting something to eat, and then celebrating our love of Bella and Edward with a little bit of late night partying. Wish you could be here.
I am also the proud owner of a round trip train ticket to Seattle, Washington for next weekend. I'M GOING TO SEE YOU, CALVERTS! I honestly think I might die a little bit I am so excited.
Countdown to return to Provo is 18 days.
See you soon!

I got bored so I reread the first one.
I realize I'm running the risk of losing some readers here, but I must be true to my heart. The one I almost just lost. I just about had a heart attack.
1. Article on Twilight movie
2. Trailer for Twilight
3. 4th book in 20 DAYS
Oh. My. Word.
Abbey, Abbey, Abbey, I need you.

Oh Wrath.
It may be that Mallory was just reading it, but The Grapes of Wrath has been on my mind the past couple weeks. Combined with I Am Legend, my brain is a little bit on psycho "end of the world" mode. I'm slightly terrified of some natural disaster that will force me to live off of my (non-existent) food storage, stay inside the house, use walking or bike riding to get to places (like Utah!), or have all cell phone stands explode so there is no more cell phone usage across the world. It really makes me want to be established so I can start storing food for the giant famine or power outage or natural disaster that takes over the world.
So I kind of got off topic from this article I wanted to share, but here you go. One
bona fide grapes of wrath dust bowl/famine story for the current day coming right up! Am I crazy for thinking this is kind of like the Grapes of Wrath?

I've resorted to reading books online during the work hours. The book is The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells.
A paragraph I enjoyed:
Mr. Thomas Marvel was sitting with his feet in a ditch by the roadside over the down towards Adderdean, about a mile and a half out of Iping. His feet, save for socks of irregular open-work, were bare, his big toes were broad, and pricked like the ears of a watchful dog. In a leisurely manner -- he did everything in a leisurely manner -- he was contemplating trying on a pair of boots. They were the soundest boots he had come across for a long time, but too large for him; whereas the ones he had were, in dry weather, a very comfortable fit, but too thin-soled for damp. Mr. Thomas Marvel hated roomy shoes, but then he hated damp. He had never properly thought out which he hated most, and it was a pleasant day, and there was nothing better to do. So he put the four shoes in a graceful group on the turf and looked at them. And seeing them there among the grass and springing agrimony, it suddenly occurred to him that both pairs were exceedingly ugly to see. He was not at all startled by a voice behind him.
Sometimes it's worth reading quasi-boring books for passages like this.

I love clothes. Clothes, Clothes, Clothes.
I have to admit. I've been reading Gossip Girl.
And watching it.
And thinking about it.
And shopping.
Sooo turns out I'm obsessed with clothing and fashion.
Bye!

Love you, Laina
Love my new blog heading? Yes, thank you to Alaina Despain I have my own wonderful layout that nobody else can claim as their own. It's pretty cool, it's so weird to watch Alaina doing all these tricky things on Photoshop...it kind of scares me.
I'm spending the night with Laina and the baby. I can't wait to wake up to a baby. It's almost like being a real mom except I don't have to take care of her when she's crying. I guess that means I miss out on the whole "being loved by baby" thing, but I'll leave that to Alaina.
I'm pretty much gonna go to bed now, I think. I've been getting some pretty good sleep time in this last week...the whole waking up early and going to bed early is starting to catch on.
I re-read the English Patient and fell in love with it all over again. So good.

Ohkaaaaaay
I am going to post a new blog so that nasty picture of Kino's wounds won't make you nauseated when you view my blog. Just try to avoid scrolling down. Because I'm on Rachel's computer and I don't have my supply of recent pictures to post, you will have to settle for some mind vomit.
1. I really hate when people say they "lack the hand-eye coordination" to do something. I will admit that I use this excuse sometimes, but it really is an excuse, not true in the least. People who say they lack the hand-eye coordination to play ping pong, or basketball, or do a cartwheel might as well admit they are useless and have no talent in the world except for saying stupid things.
2. I have been reading the Twilight series. I started last night about 7, finished the book today sometime, and am about 3/4 of the way through with the 2nd. Rach is a very good procrastinator at reading so that I will have to wait a few days to start the 3rd book. I love you Raaaaachie.
3. I kind of talk out loud when I'm typing on the computer. Only when I'm doing something different to words though, like "Raaaaaachie" or "byyyyyyye". It's like, somehow that makes my weird word spellings more sane, because I really am saying it in real life.
4. Some people can't blog right. I know that seems like a very oxymoronish statement (who said there was any way to blog), but if a blog is boring it's wrong. I'm afraid sometimes that I don't know how to blog.
5. I am frightened for school to start.
6. I miss watching movies with Mallory.
7. I kind of wish I could live with Grandma and Grandpa.
8. My knees hurt.
9. I am a very very very expresionful reader. I don't know what the opposite of expressionless is? Therefore: Expresionful. I gasp, laugh, cry, whimper, and scream, right along with the characters. Sometimes this is embarassing. Most of the time, it just makes me happier.
10. I still REALLY hate going to the bathroom. This is very bad because I like to drink (not alcohol) almost as much as I hate going to the bathroom. Sometimes I think having a cathetar all the time would be preferrable, until I remember that I'd have to empty that sometimes, which maybe could be worse than actually going to the bathroom. I'll have to look at hiring myself an assistant nurse to change my bag every couple hours.
