Facebook, Facebook

Do you think facebook knows I'm getting married soon? It's a little bit creepy

Friday, October 31, 2008

Honestly,

Am I super geeky for loving this? I read the WHOLE ARTICLE.

Archaeologist finds 3,000 year old text

Once my family made fun of me because I read whole news articles. I remember being informed that there isn't anything in the rest of the article that isn't in the first paragraph. Sorry guys, I like reading.

ps.
I'm sure I didn't get made fun of. Mostly.

I feel so demoralized

p.s.
No, I'm not married for those of you who saw the email that claimed I am.

Here's a story I forgot to tell.

Did I ever tell you about the time Garmin tricked Josh and me? No, I don't think I did. Here goes.

We took an innocent day jaunt to the beach. We wanted some clam chowder, some extra large fountain drinks, and a sunny day at the otherwise blistery coast. Garmin, it seems, had other plans...or at least, some plans to add on to the end of our plans.

We left Sand Lake after an impromptu visit of the Spencer and Randy Calvert sort (yes, I was the girl who crashed priests weekend or week...whatever those boy outings are called) and got on the road home. I entered my home address and trusted G-man to take me home. Turns out, the way home was the most winding, baby small, surrounded by trees and axe murderers road in the whole entire world. Garmin started with an estimated time of arrival at 5:27 pm, and 40 minutes later (still on that stupid road) the ETA had moved to 6:07 pm. It was ridiculous. I finally was so fed up that I searched for a restaurant to put in so we would change direction and go in any other direction. Picked Dairy Queen. Good choice, it had bathrooms made in heaven. We got back on the road, and Garmin took Joshua and myself to the CANBY FERRY.

The Canby ferry, guys. It is ridiculously out of the way. I wish I could find a map to show you how ridiculous it was to take this route. There must've been some endorsement from the Canby ferry, because Garmin took us somewhere where we had to GIVE UP DOLLARS to ride the stupid ferry.

Moral of the story? Someday all satellite GPS systems will be hijacked by creepy serial killers leading people to their deaths on scary back roads. I do not trust technology. And Garmin and I are in a fight.

P.s.
This was supposed to be my 300th blog. Instead, I deleted 7 drafts and am now at a comfortable post # 293. I just bought myself two stress free weeks before I have to worry about some fantastic 300th blog. Happy Labor Day everyone. Loves.

Yeaeayyyahh

Oh wow. This is the weirdest movie I think I've ever seen. I'll never view MK+A the same.

Oh Wrath.

It may be that Mallory was just reading it, but The Grapes of Wrath has been on my mind the past couple weeks. Combined with I Am Legend, my brain is a little bit on psycho "end of the world" mode. I'm slightly terrified of some natural disaster that will force me to live off of my (non-existent) food storage, stay inside the house, use walking or bike riding to get to places (like Utah!), or have all cell phone stands explode so there is no more cell phone usage across the world. It really makes me want to be established so I can start storing food for the giant famine or power outage or natural disaster that takes over the world.

So I kind of got off topic from this article I wanted to share, but here you go. One
bona fide grapes of wrath dust bowl/famine story for the current day coming right up! Am I crazy for thinking this is kind of like the Grapes of Wrath?

You miser, you.

I read a wonderful little article on WIKIHOW about how to save money! It was quite helpful, but this little bit of information made my day.

I'm a working girl! Love you bye.
Oh and PS!!!
This is hilarious. "You May Now Kick the Bride"

Be careful, you don't want to get fined.

For all of you who are interested...
How to Kill a Jellyfish.

Short.
Sweet.
A little on the crazy side.

I like it.

***PS!
The article has changed from approximately two days ago when I posted this link. It used to have something to do with letting a jellyfish attach to your leg then pumping it full of vinegar, now it's knife jabbing. Now I think it's a little bit too violent and not very accurate, and now perhaps has lost it's humor. This is me apologizing in case you're offended/don't find this funny. Cheers.

Little Babies!

Remember my stats TA? Yeah well you might not considering I've only mentioned him once or twice. Today was my last stats lab and we played this little game (we play lots of little games in this class) called, "Guess my TA's age". Everyone guessed like 23, 24, I was too nice to guess 18, 19, or 20 in case he really was 24. His true age? 16. SIXTEEN YEARS OLD! My stats mentor is the age of my younger sister. He actually pulled up his route Y page and showed us his actual birth date. This is his first year at BYU. He graduated from high school last year AND got his associates at UVSC at the same time.

Why am I so normal??

PS.

So, his parting words to us as we left were, "Hey guys, UVSC is really easy. Seriously. Just in case anyone wants a little out."

Bye.

Thumb drives are dangerous.

Two little pieces of the Daily Universe to report:

I look forward to being a parent. Doesn't this sound great?

A 6-year-old boy called the police when his 9-year-old brother would not let him watch television. BYU police checked the situation to make sure the boys were supervised. Both boys were fine.

And there are a few things wrong (or is it right?) with this one:

BYU math teaching assistants called BYU police to report a male student who had recently threatened them. The student said he would pull out a female TAs hair with duct tape and would stab another TAs foot with a thumb drive to infect him with a deadly virus. BYU Police are questioning the individual.

a) As far as I know, computer viruses have not yet made the jump to humans or airborne(ness).
b) Pull out hair with duct tape? Why not your bare hands? Seems like a waste of duct tape and dollars to purchase it.
c) This boy is ultimately creepy and probably a little bit too obsessed with futuristic stuff like Star Wars and Minority Report.
d) Those were the only two movies I could think of as really futuristicy. I'm not sure if Star Wars counts though because they still lived in sand and horridness. But they did travel at light speed, dang it. If that's not futurey I just don't know what is.

Oh my.

Honestly, this blog is better than anything else you will read/write/speak/overhear today. My sister, Natalie, and the Blog of the Day.

Ohhh BYU, you are so good to me.

Hey Jude

Found this little video while youtube surfing. It makes me happy. Especially the inability to say 'better' and 'let her'. Or any other word with L's in it.

This further enhances my desire to have babies of other races.

Love you bye.

I mean, I guess it's true.

This little gem was an ad on my facebook.

Does this make anyone else feel.......

Who is the target audience for this ad?

I'm so confused.

Oh chucks.

I wish I had known this rule that one time I played scrabble and failed miserably.

Thursday, February 28, 2008

Thanks, BYU.

You'll be glad to know that BYU is a firm supporter of Kendall. My name is on the background of every computer on campus. Awwwww.

Carpe Diem

For everyone who I know:

Quote of the month

Last night driving in the car, I explained to Joshua and Rachel that I hate driving on dark roads at night, for fear a vampire or a werewolf will run at my car and I will fly into the woods in flames. Josh's response:

"Vampires and werewolves are so afraid of me. Seriously, last year I was on the cover of Werewolf Magazine as the most terrifying human alive."

Too good to pass up this late at night.

Can you believe it?

First of all, I love Harry Potter.

Second of all, can I borrow four million dollars??

If you've read book 7, you know what the Tales of Beedle the Bard are. JK Rowling handwrote seven copies of the book, gave six to her friends, and sold one for charity. Want to guess how much it sold for?? 4 MILLION DOLLARS.

Seriously though, if I had that much money, I'd totally buy a hand written, jewel encrusted book of stories essential to the childhood of Ronald Weasley.
